The affair:

Illya Kuryakin is kidnapped by Emory Partridge, the man who owned a Latin American country. Waverly orders Napoleon to finish Partridge and bring Illya back. In Eastnouts, Emory shows his huge property to Kuryakin. They are greeted by his wife Edith. Kuryakin tries to escape but is recaptured and chained in the medieval torture chamber. Napoleon Solo comes to town and is received with general hostility. One woman supports him: Peggy Durrance, who informs that Kuryakin is trapped in the Partridge mansion. Napoleon ask for help to free Illya and promises to help her against the Partridge domain. Solo is trapped by Emory Partridge, who says the next will be Alexander Waverly. The fugitives are sent to a maze where they are hunted by Partrige and his men. Edith saves them.

FYI: George Sanders (1906-1972), born in Russia, was a symbol of elegance and refinement in films such as All About Eve (1950). He would return to interpret the same Emory Partridge in espisode 43. In “The Gazebo in the Maze Affair”, he wants revenge on Solo and Kuryakin because of unreported events seven years earlier. But the story is poor and manages the threats of torture and figure dominatrix Edith. Emory Partridge would be back soon to defy UNCLE one more time.
