With the oft-delayed movie landing a cozy streaming release on Amazon’s Prime Video earlier this year, it looks like that partnership was a rather successful one. At least, that’s what it would look like on the surface, as My Spy 2 is apparently a project that’s being discussed between the streaming retailer and the film’s production company, STX Entertainment. Which is fine and all, as if the public really wants another My Spy, they should get it. But there are 10 other spy franchises that should easily get sequels if we’re really getting serious. Unfortunately, some of his later films haven't broken bank at the box office. One such film undeserving of the low returns was The Man From U.N.C.L.E., based on the '60s television show. This comedic spy action flick carries Ritchie's signature style and is entertaining through and through. Movies That Need Sequels, Like NOW, Goddammit! By  Petr Knava  |  Lists  | September 12, 2018 |  The Man From U.N.C.L.E.  (2005) Look, I don’t really like this movie very much. I mean, it’s okay. It’s  fine . But y’all are  nuts  for it. And that’s fine too! So partly out of consideration for you, and partly because I think there was room for improvement in a sequel (a planned follow-up did exist at one point, with some overtures being made to its development even well after the movie bombed), I have decided to include it here. While I think the finished product was nothing special, it did seem that the central trio’s chemistry was potent and easy enough so as to lend itself well to more vintage spy hijinks. After all, this  U.N.C.L.E. literally ends with them setting up U.N.C.L.E. So let them have a go at it. YOU SHOULD BE WATCHING: THE MAN FROM UNCLE (2015) Spy remakes are a dime a dozen, especially those mined from the world of the small screen. 1998’s  The Avengers , starring Uma Thurman and Ralph Fiennes, was an attempt to adapt the successful British TV series of the same name, but flopped at the box office. Ten years later,  Get Smart  was revived as a film with Steve Carell and Anne Hathaway, but performed only moderately better. Even the wildly popular  Mission: Impossible  franchise, which has now become a vehicle for Tom Cruise to try to maintain his relevancy as an action star, began as a television show (not to mention a revival series with a mostly different cast). Next to all of these, Guy Ritchie’s  The Man From UNCLE  may not appear that impressive. At the very least, it seems redundant. But closer examination unearths a hidden gem amongst other reboots that have tried and failed to capture their audiences’ nostalgia-driven excite...
