Until Ritchie explains the Man From UNCLE Easter egg in The Gentlemen, fans are free to speculate on what it means. Perhaps it's simply a nod to all the fans who have been asking him for a sequel in recent years, an acknowledgement that The Man From UNCLE has a more dedicated fan base than he originally knew. Or perhaps it's an indication he's actively working on a sequel.

Star Trek the Motion Picture also received poor reviews and the Wrath of Kahn renewed an interest in the franchise. The man From U.N.C.L.E. was so poorly done a sequel can only be an improvement. However, the story and characters must return to the series which made popular to begin with. A secret international organization following it's top agents fighting to maintain law and order.
ReplyDeleteGuy Ritchie's big mistake was using a totally unrelated story and stealing the names of the characters from the series. To be honest I'm surprised he didn't use the names April dancer and Mark Slate as well. The only reference to U.N.C.L.E. was in Code Name : uncle or was it Operation : uncle in reference to getting information from the girl's uncle. What a disappointment.
