Having been on screens for nearly two decades, the show has seen plenty of cast members come and go over the years. David McCallum as Dr Donald ‘Ducky’ Mallard

Donald ‘Ducky’ Mallard was the chief medical examiner at NCIS and an old friend of Gibbs. He retired from his position and became an NCIS historian in season 16 of the show. The role is played by Scottish actor David McCallum, who rose to fame in the 1960s for playing secret agent Illya Kuryakin in the television series The Man from U.N.C.L.E.. Like Mark Harmon, he has been part of the cast since season one.
