Robert Vaughn blesses Henry Cavill, the new Napoleon Solo

Image
Robert Vaughn, the original Man From UNCLE, gave his blessing to the new Napoleon Solo, Henry Cavill. In a interview to HenryCavill website, Vaughn said: “I’m sure he’ll be fine. He’s an attractive actor. I’ve seen him wearing the Superman suit. The main thing he has to have to make the character work is a sense of humor. That’s what we always said… no matter how dire the situations were, the humor was the thing that helped us prevail". To read more about the interview click here.

Armie Hammer to Entertainment Weekly: "I moved to Soviet Union for six years"

Image
The Man From UNCLE movie entered the Entertainment Weekly radar. The most prestigious show business/pop culture magazine in the world published its "First Look" on the film, due to premiere in August. Henry Cavill (as Napoleon Solo) is obviously the main attraction:  But the best joke was told by Armie Hammer. Hammer plays russian agent (and Solo's sidekick) Solo's sidekick. Hammer told Entertainment Weekly that to be prepared for the role, he "moved to Soviet Union for six years. It was time travel as well as location. The jet lag is a killer".

Impact on Man Fom UNCLE trailer: "full of style, charm, and excitement"

Image
What British magazine Impact said about Man From UNCLE first trailer: 2015 seems to be a return for the spy genre. With  Kingsman: The Secret Service already proving to be a fun time and the latest bond film  Spectre  coming out in November, the first look at  The Man from U.N.C.L.E.  seems so packed full of style, charm, and excitement, that it’s a promising outlook for cinematic espionage. The Man from U. N. C. L. E.  is based upon Sam Rolfe’s 1960’s spy-fi series of the same name, and is directed by Guy Ritchie with Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer in the lead roles. Since the start of the decade however, many names have circulated the film, with Steven Soderbergh initially interested in helming the project and stars such as George Clooney and Tom Cruise in what is now Cavill’s role. At the sight of this first look trailer, the developmental struggles appear to be worth the wait. From a fairly quiet, calm, collected and th...

UNCLE 2015: first trailer

Image
This is the first trailer of The Man From UNCLE 2015 just released by Warner Brothers. There's no reference to the original series. Director/writer Guy Ritchie made an option for a total revamp. No Del Floria's, no UNCLE logo, no original musical theme. Henry Cavill make a good work as Napoleon Solo, very close to the original actor, Robert Vaughn. And Armie Hammer is far from David McCallum as Illya Kuryakin, now with a Russian accent.  Solo and Kuryakin start the trailer (and the film) as rival spies working for CIA and KGB in 1963. We can't forget this is only the first trailer. Premiere: 14 august 2015.
